Sport

Here at Casebrook, we believe that sport should be enjoyed by all students and we offer a wide range of individual and team sporting options year round.

We have teams that compete in interschool competitions and tournaments and also run in school sporting options throughout the year in addition to our classroom sports programmes.

Here is a selection of the various sports we have on offer.

Basketball:

Casebrook basketball teams playing at the Bishopdale YMCA competition (10 weeks), Term 2 and 3 every Friday evening between 4.00pm to 7.30pm.

Netball:

Casebrook now has six netball teams participating in the Hagley competitions including several boys. These teams are a combination of Year 7 and 8's and teams are committed to weekly training sessions and have been displaying a high skill set.

Cricket:

This year Casebrook looked sharp on the cricket pitch. We placed 2nd in the Summer Hagley Competition in term one. We also had some great games during the National Primary School Cup Tournament and we look forward to improving our results next year.

 Rugby and Rugby League:

Rugby and Rugby League at Casebrook is a real strength. We pride ourselves on putting together a strong competitive team. This year, our league team competed in the Canterbury Champs and came 3rd. We currently send a rugby team to the Hagley competition to play against other Intermediate Schools.

Volleyball:

Our volleyball teams have a proud tradition of success at Intermediate school tournaments.

Hockey:

Casebrook enters two mixed hockey teams in a weekly Hagley winter sports competition, involving Intermediate schools in Christchurch. It is one of our main winter sports options and is a great chance for the students to learn the necessary skill sets.

Later in the year, both teams travel down to Dunedin to compete in the South Island Water Polo Championship where our A team placed 2nd and some of our players were selected for the tournament teams.
