On Wednesday the 23rd of May, eight students from Casebrook Intermediate arrived at Cobham Intermediate for the first EPro8 competition for 2018.

The competition started at 4:45 and went for 3 hours. There were five different schools competing, Hornby with four teams, Cobham with two teams, Heaton with two teams, Breens with two teams and Casebrook with two teams. Rosemary Webber, Lara Donaldson- Scott, Hamish Morgan and Maia Jeffs were in one of Casebrooks two teams, while Jorja Sinclair- Fearn, Emma Bailey, Ryan Maule and Nathaniel Kilpatrick were in the other.

The teams were shown how to use all of the equipment and then they got started on their tasks. One of Casebrook’s teams decided on the task of making a ladder for a fire engine, while the other team chose the task of making a bed with a lamp.

“The hardest part is when something goes wrong and you have to start all over again,” Mrs Ogilvie said.

Each team earned 40-60 points per task and were allowed to complete as many as they wanted, as long as they could get them finished in time. When they were done, they hit a buzzer and then the judge came over and told them whether or not it was good enough.

Both of Casebrooks teams did really well and we can’t wait to see what they achieve next!!
