Welcome to our Year 7 and 8 students and families, especially those new to our school.

We have an exciting year ahead of us and look forward to working together.  Thank you very much for ensuring your child has arrived with the correct uniform and stationery.  We appreciate it is a large ask at this time of year but assure you it is money and time well spent as it means your child feels part of the school and is ready to be involved.

On Friday morning we have a Mihi Whakatau to welcome our new students and their families.  You are very welcome to join us.  If you are new to the school please join the students on the driveway at 8.45am but if you have been welcomed before come to the school hall.  This is an important event as it makes us one.

Please take the time to read our latest Education Review Office Report.  The ERO team visited the school late in Term 4 and the report was only finalised last week.  We are all very proud of the finding of the review team as it confirms we are offering a wide range of opportunities to our students and they in turn are proud of their achievements and of being a member of our school community.  The report  is an attachment in this newsletter.

We welcome Mr Dan Leys to our teaching staff and look forward to his involvement in our school.  Mr Mark Russell has a new role as our 'Curriculum Support and Student Well Being Teacher.  This role has been created as we recognise the very special and specific needs of this age group.  Mark is available to support students and whanau.

It is important to us that your child has a very successful year and so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.  We know education works best when we work together.

Regards
