A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Aidan for making the New Zealand Karate Team. The team will be travelling to India to compete in September. What a fantastic opportunity this is for him and we wish him all the very best for the competition and look forward to hearing how it all goes. Mrs Austin Room 7 Classroom Teacher

Hello my name is Aidan Batt and I’m in Room 7 for 2015.

I’ve been doing karate for about 7 years now (I started when I was 5).

I’ve been lucky enough to be selected for the New Zealand Karate-Do team that’s going to India for the Commonwealth Competition.

My Shihan (senior instructor) 8th Dan, has been tutoring me along with the national coaches in preparation for the games.

I have already competed in New Zealand and Australian International Competition and many others, I have been awarded over 30+ medals and trophies since I started karate.

Along with the games in India, I hope to sit my black belt (Shodan) at the end of this year.

I train up to four times a week and lately I’ve been doing weekend trainings as well so it’s a big commitment.
