Casebrook Boys Hagley Cricket Team

The season has had its highs and lows already, but there is more to come and a strong squad to meet the challenges.

Tuesday before last the boys Cricket team played against Cobham, Casebrook won the toss and elected to bowl. Cobham got off to an early start but with a great catch from James Tucker and some good bowling from Jesse and Luka bowling out the key batsmen reduced Cobham to 56 after seven overs. That was a tough target to get especially in the cold rain but with a good 1st wicket partnership from vice captain Cam Floris and Ben English meant Casebrook needed 18 of the last three overs. It was possible but difficult and by this time we needed eight off the last over. But sadly Casebrook fell short of the target and lost by four runs. It was disappointing but it was fun to get a game in with the rain.

This Tuesday just gone we played against the Heaton team that beat us in the first game of the season. We turned the tables and thanks to a standout batting performance by Logan Cartwright, our man of the match, and some excellent catching we finished with a 10 run win, almost having bowled them all out. An excellent team effort.

We have had an awesome season so far although we have only won two games, all of our losses have been really tight. We hope we can get a few more wins before the end of the season.
