Boys Hagley Cricket

Tuesday before last, the boys Hagley Cricket team played against Heaton. Casebrook won the toss again with Ben’s lucky $2 coin and elected to bat.

Cam F and Logan C-K both having a solid innings and both retiring to set the team up with 66 runs but Casebrook got lucky with Heaton’s butterfingers dropping about 5 catches!

Casebrook didn’t really have many highlights in the field but still restricted Heaton to 43 after 7 overs which gave us our second win of the season. We then hoped we would finish the season on a high by winning our last game of the season.

Which we did in fine style against Breen's. We set them a small total in the forties after facing the best bowling attack of the competition. So the making of the win had to come from the bowling and fielding, which it did superbly. A breakthrough wicket from Luka started the ball rolling and not long after their main batsmen was caught superbly by Cam T on the boundary. Ben led the team with admirable conviction just when we needed it most, rallying the fielders and putting in a very tight bowling performance that limited Breen’s run scoring. He deservedly earn't man of the match, and along with Cam F must be commended on excellent leadership throughout the season. Well done everybody involved and thanks to all the parents that came to support. See you next year.
