Message from the Board

It’s hard to believe we have already completed the first school month of 2019!

A very special welcome to Casebrook Intermediate, to all our Year 7 students and parents. We really appreciate you choosing our school of opportunity, and we trust your children will have a great two years embracing all that we have on offer. We tend to find that those who get involved in as much as they can during their time at our school take away great experiences and special memories, and subsequently position themselves very well for that next step into high school.

To our 2019 Year 8 students, welcome back as the ‘seniors’ of Casebrook Intermediate. We trust you will continue to set a fine example for our current Year 7’s on how to live our R.E.P. Values.

As many of you will be well aware, early in 2018 we opened our renovated Room’s 5, 6, 7 and 8. This modern, open and collaborative space has been a hit with students and teachers alike. The good news is that this modernisation of our facilities will continue in 2019, with planning well underway for further development of our remaining classroom and external spaces. While it brings with it a bit of organisational upheaval, we have already shown our ability to remain agile around the remaining spaces we have, in the knowledge that these modern facilities will be fantastic for our future students.

We continue a strong focus on our international student opportunities in 2019. Our visiting international students bring valuable cultural diversity to our school and the wider community. In late September, early October this year we will be taking a group to South Korea and Singapore. We already have strong interest and registration for this trip. Casebrook Intermediate continues to build on a positive reputation for our coordination and facilitation of these trips, and is actually a reason why some families choose to bring their children to our school. The School and Board of Trustees have decided that after this year, these trips will be every second year, which will still deliver the opportunity to all students during their time at Casebrook Intermediate.

During my time on the Board of Trustees and in my role of Board Chair, I am continually impressed by the quality of all our teachers, administration and other support staff. Under the leadership of our Principal Sharon Keen and the full Leadership Team at Casebrook Intermediate, this will be no different for 2019. The time and effort they all give to our school and students is nothing short of outstanding, and I would take this opportunity on behalf of our Board of Trustees to thank them all for what they do.

Thanks again for being a part of our Casebrook Intermediate community. We value your support of our school, and look forward to seeing you across the many events and activities supporting your children, and our students.

Best regards,

Rhys Williams – Board Chair
