Tēnā Koutou Kātoa - Musical and Sporting Events provide many experiences for our students.

Earlier this week our Girls and Boys A Basketball Teams took part in the Mainland Basketball competition. Our boys team was placed 2nd and our girls 3rd. This was a great experience for all, prior to them travelling to Tauranga to compete in the AIMS Games. Thank you to the coaches and managers for the time they are dedicating to practices as well as the fund raising efforts.

This week was the Canterbury Intermediate Sports Tournament.  We had teams competing in the Sevens and Hockey

Our A and B Water Polo teams competed in the Canterbury Champs, a great build up to the South Island competition later in the year.

On Wednesday we had over a hundred students skiing at Mount Hutt.  It was perfect conditions and so all had a great time.  The remainder of our students took part in an Activities day, a day that provided a great range of experiences.

Thank you to all the staff that have supported teams in tournaments and organised alternative activities and programmes.  Our students are very fortunate.

On Tuesday night our Casebrook Band, Siri, competed in the Rock Shop Band Quest.  They were awarded best vocalist.

Student Lead conferences are taking place on September 3 and 4.    This is a very important event as it gives your child the opportunity to tell you about their learning.  You can book on  www.schoolinterviews.co.nz     enter the school code z9pvr

All classes have learnt their dance for our annual school production and the cast are in place and so now it is all coming together ready for the performances during the last week of the term.  The performances will be on the  evenings of September 24, 25 and 26.  Tickets will go on sale the week of September 2.   It is a great event that all really enjoy.  Further details will be sent to you closer to the time but I do encourage you to book your tickets as we always sell out.

If your child is in Year 8 and you have not enrolled them in a High School I encourage you to do so as testing and visits begin soon.  If you wish to discuss this process or are concerned about the transition Mr Mark Russell is available to offer assistance.  Just phone or email the school office.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please contact us.  We look forward to and thank you for your support in the coming weeks.
