The BLAKE Young Leader Award aims to recognise young New Zealanders (year 5-8) who show commitment to leading positive change in their community.

Sir Peter Blake believed in the incredible potential of young people to achieve great things. This award is given to students from around New Zealand who display some or all of the characteristics that Sir Peter Blake himself demonstrated, including:

  • belief in achieving extraordinary things
  • the initiative to pursue an idea
  • a desire for constant improvement
  • trusting and empowering teammates
  • integrity
  • having fun

This year, we are proud to announce that Luke McCallum from Room 8 has been chosen as a recipient of this amazing award! Luke is a respectful and conscientious member of the Casebrook Intermediate School community. He strives to do his best in all areas, whether it is in the classroom, sporting field or cultural activities. He is a member of the student council team this year, and shows great leadership while undertaking the Rm8 Class Leader role. Luke is kind, caring and always ensures to include everyone in tasks and activities. He is a firm believer in sportsmanship and will always encourage others to do their absolute best no matter what their ability level.

Congratulations Luke! We are all incredibly proud of your achievement!
