Tēnā Koutou Kātoa - Welcome to 2020

A very warm welcome to students and whānau who are joining us for the first time and welcome back to our Year 8 students and families. It has been a very smooth start to the school year and I thank you for this as all our young people have arrived in uniform, with their stationery and ready to learn.

Thank you to those who were present at the Mihi Whakatu on Monday morning. The event is significant as it welcomes all new comers into our school community. The next opportunity to meet with staff is on Tuesday at the 'Meet The Teachers' evening.  This involves meeting in your child's classroom from 5:00 to 5:30pm and then moving to the hall where our Casebrook Challenge programme and BYOD policy will be explained.  This will be finished by 6:00pm.

At 7:00pm the PTA meet in the school staffroom.  If you wish to attend this meeting you are welcome to wait in the staffroom between events. The PTA is an active group in your school and would welcome new members.

Year 8 camps are well underway and our first Year 7 surfing trip is on Friday.  Thank you very much for your support with these events.  We consider them very important as they allow our students to learn about each other and work together in different settings.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child and their schooling please do not hesitate to contact us.  Mr Mark Russell is our Learning Support Coordinator and his role is to support our students and families. We find it is always better to address concerns as they happen.

We look forward to working with you this year.
