Room 5's Writing - Chaperon Rouge

By Ashton, Angus, Baylee | Posted: Monday May 25, 2020

The writing Room 5 is doing is called Chaperon Rouge. Chaperon Rouge is french for Little Red Riding Hood. However, it is not like the original story.

Room 5 has written paragraphs of the story after watching snippets of a video. For some paragraphs, we are told what sentences to write, e.g. start with an adverb or include a metaphor. This will be one of our biggest pieces of writing we do. This video was the inspiration for our writing this week. https://www.literacyshed.com/chaperon-rouge.html

We asked some people in our class to see what they thought of the writing.

Lily Goodall

"I like the short videos and it is fun writing about Chaperon Rouge."

Emily Jones

"You don’t have to choose what to write so you have guidelines. It is okay to write about."

Sheldon Ottley

"I like the videos and the writing is cool as well."

Maya Lindholm

"I’m enjoying expressing my creativity during writing this piece"

We all enjoyed writing about Chaperon Rouge and all the writing was amazing! Here are some students from our class's writing. We have tried to paint a picture in the reader's head and have tried to add tension/suspense to our work.
