Be Inspired Leadership Conference

10 lucky students won the opportunity to attend the 'Be Inspired' conference for Year 7 students yesterday.

Hosted by Christs College, the Be Inspired Leadership conference was attended by Year 7 students from all over Christchurch.

The students were treated to an opening keynote by Cam Calkoen. An inspiring New Zealander who shared his challenges about growing up with Cerebral Palsy and the way he overcame perception and expectation.

You can watch his talk here: Live for Awesome. Truly inspiring for our students.

With only 10 spaces available per school, it was tough that many more student leaders from our school were not able to attend.  We hope more opportunities like this are available in the future.

James, one of our attendees has shared his thoughts below:

"We heard a very inspirational speaker who had a disability that made him walk strange and talk strange. His name was Cam and he talked to us about how he changed his life. We also did some team building activities and talked about what is special to us. Going to Christ's College was an amazing experience and I had a great time."  - James Pender (Room 3)

A big thanks to Annameika Lilly, a parent in Room 1, who helped transport the students and to Mr Sunia Halaifonua who lent us his people mover!
