Persevering for Punctuality and Attendance.

This fortnight's REP focus is about making sure students are getting to school on time. Every minute counts!

Making sure that you're on time to appointments and events is an important life skill to have. Casebrook students understand that it's their responsibility to make sure they are at school on time.

Check out the attached table that adds up missed learning time over the course of a week, a year, and 13 years of schooling.

For the next two weeks, classes are competing for punctuality and attendance. The winning class will receive a prize!

What do I do if I am late?

  • We know that sometimes you will be running late for school. We get that 'life happens'.

  • So if you are late, you need to sign in on the iPad in the office and take a late pass to your teacher.

  • All that information on the iPad goes to Mrs Gillard and Mr Russell. Mr Russell checks how many times someone has been late.

What happens if I am late?

  • If you are late because of a suitable reason - please come to school with a note from your parents.

  • Teachers are able to take back any time you missed from class. This could happen at morning tea, lunch or even after school.

  • If lates continue after Mr Russell has spoken to you, the school will send a letter home or ask your parents to come in.

  • If nothing changes then a K3 attendance officer will be notified and that officer will come to your house.

What if I can’t come to school?

  • Again, we understand that sometimes you cannot make it to school due to sickness.

  • But if you aren’t going to make it to school, your caregiver needs to let the school know.

  • Mr Russell will look at the school data three times a term and if anyone has been away for more than 15% of the year he will speak to you.

  • If poor attendance continues the school will send a letter or ask your parents to come in.

  • If nothing changes then a K3 attendance officer will be notified and that officer will come to your house.
