Two days of whanau interviews conclude tonight. The purpose of these meetings was to allow looking at learning progress to date and discuss future learning goals or transition concerns if your child is moving to High School.

If you were unable to attend an interview please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher to arrange an alternative time.

Last week saw the first of two Dunedin Inquiry Camps take place and the second camp departed Tuesday of this week. During the trip, students will visit museums, Penguin Palace, experience surfing and sandboarding, have an interactive tour of Otago University as well as many other activities over the week.

Last Thursday evening we held the Culture and Kai evening. The evening opened with the Kapa Haka and Pasifika groups performing before breaking into smaller groups where they were able to share the learning interactively with whanau. The evening concluded with kai.

Athletics day was held yesterday which saw the whole school take part in eight different activities over the day. It was great to see a number of family members supporting and all students enjoying the day. Good luck to the students who will compete at the upcoming CAIMS Athletics competition.

The canteen upgrade will begin on Monday of next week, this will mean that the school hall will be out of action for the remainder of the year. The canteen will be closed on Monday but will open with a revised menu from Tuesday for the remainder of the year.

With the hall being out of use for the remainder of the year this will mean that assemblies and celebrations will need to be run differently. This information will be shared with the community once the plans are finalised.

Good luck this weekend to Casebrook Dancers who are performing at Whakaoho: Papanui Community Day and to the Kapa Haka group taking part in the Tuhono Festival.

All the best to the waterpolo teams heading down to Dunedin to participate in the South Island Tournament.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher or the staff in the office.
