First place in the Christchurch Intermediate speech competitions awarded to Lileeh Davis

Casebrook hosted the annual Christchurch Intermediate Speech Competition this week, where Lileeh Davis was placed first and Matthew Lange third.  A wonderful achievement for both students out of a strong field of contenders.

The water polo teams are well drilled and ready to travel to Dunedin this Friday to compete in the South Island Tournament. We wish them all the best for the competition and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Emily Mordue and Justin Perriam for their work with the group.

Our choir perform tonight at the Horncastle Arena as part of the Christchurch Music Festival.  Thank you to Lydia Muschamp for her support and we wish Lydia all the best as she conducts the Junior Special Choir.  This is a great honour for Lydia and recognition of her special talents.

Last week myself and three staff members were fortunate to travel to Whakatane to attend a conference run by the New Zealand Association of Intermediate and Middle Schooling.  The focus was on the successful engagement of this age group and how schools can assist individuals in realising their potential.  It was a very worthwhile event.

The weeks ahead are very busy so please keep referring to the term calendar. If you have any questions or concerns, especially about next year please do not hesitate to contact us.
