A group of students took part in an activity based on Antony Gormley's permanent artworks STAY, located at Ōtākaro Avon River and the Arts Centre.

Make sure you get into town to view the stunning sculptures "Stay" sited in the river Te Papa Otakaro and the other at the Arts Centre.  Students discovered the artist used his own body as the starting point for this sculpture and the form was then manipulated using three-dimensional computer technology to create the figure we see.  The sculpture is made of cast iron and is part of the Polyhedra Series.  Students explored patterns and sections within a shape alongside experimenting with creating a rust effect finish.
