Welcome back to Te Puna Waro

There is a new activity group in the library at lunchtimes on Tuesdays, a group of students have formed a Rubiks's Cube Club. They are sharing the secrets of how to solve the cube as well as timing themselves with the aid of a computer app. These speedcubers are extremely focussed!

Some books in the library have been "recovered".  They have had the very first sentence written on a temporary cover to entice the students to find out more. It seems to be working.

  • A huge roar, like the howl of some gigantic beast, woke me with a start and made my heart hammer against my ribcage.
  • For three long days the coast had been savaged by a wild and rabid storm.
  • "Load, load, load," Grandad said.
  • In all the years that Elinora Gassbeck had been matron of the Little Tulip Orphanage, not once had the Rules of Baby Abandonment been broken.
  • A bamboo bowl flew through the air, aimed at the slave girl's head
