Water Polo Update

At Casebrook Intermediate we currently have two water polo teams.

The A team plays on a Monday evening and the B team plays on a Friday. Both teams train together on a Wednesday evening at Christ College Pool.

We chatted to two of our A-team members Toby Gee and William Sandford. The boys said that the grade that they are in is really challenging, they have found the teams extremely difficult but have made comeback in the last few games. Their favourite game was against Cobham.

Will and Toby both started playing water polo because it sounded fun and their siblings and friends had played it. Their favourite part about the sport is being with friends and completing shooting drills. Looking ahead, the boys think that the A team will do well if they train harder and put their minds to it.

The Casebrook B team has lots of Year 7's and students who are new to water polo. All students in the B team have shown huge improvements from the beginning of the year. They compete in half a pool on Friday, however, they are on a rotation to sub in for the A team each Monday night. Overall, the B team has had some impressive results and can be proud of their commitment.

Both teams will be traveling to Dunedin later in the year to compete in the South Island Year 7 & 8 Tournament. We look forward to following their success.
