Redwood Library Visits

This term some classes have had the opportunity to visit Redwood Library on Main North Road.

During the library visits students go to code robots, discuss apps that help you find good audiobooks, and even play with hydraulic robot arms! We sure can’t wait for our class to get to go to the Redwood Library!

We have interviewed students who have already completed their class trip to the library:

Ryan and Quinn, Room 7

Ryan and Quinn's favorite activity was controlling the hydraulic robot arms and coding the robots.

The first thing they did when they got to the library was talk about books with the librarians and about an app to help people find suitable audiobooks. Quinn said that the walk was nice, the library was a good experience and he really liked the playaways they had at the library (Playaways are little boxes with an audiobook on them).

They rated the trip a seven out of ten because they really enjoyed they enjoyed the activities but wished they could have spent more time doing them.

Some improvements that Quinn and Ryan would have made if they owned the library were, making it bigger and giving more selection.

The boys think that it’s important to go to the library every fortnight or so, so that you always have a book to read.

Maddy and Cate, Room 16

Maddy and Cate’s favourite part of the trip to Redwood Library was playing with and coding the robots.

They also got to ‘broke’ the robots. If the girls owned the library, they would make the activities for schools really exciting, they would upgrade the public bathrooms and they would install more heating and seating.

Thank you Miss Clark for organising this opportunity for us!
