On the 25 - 27th of July, three Casebrook Intermediate children made a grand total of $1010!

There are people across the world that don’t have access to enough food. The 40 Hour Famine is when you do something that these people actually have to deal with, like not eating for 40 hours, or going without something for 40 hours. You raise money for what you are doing and then you donate it to World Vision and help vulnerable families afford food.

The top three children who raised the most money were, first Isabella Prince raising $375. Second, William Sandford raised $330. Third was Toby Gee raising $305, which is a total of $1010!!!

We asked them some questions about their experience:

What did you do?

No eating, no talking and no devices (Isabella). 42km in 4 hours (William and Toby)

Where did you do it?

Home (Isabella).

Around the Redwood neighbourhood (William and Toby).

How do you feel about raising $1010 altogether?

Happy, proud, touched and shocked (Isabella, William and Toby).

Why did you do it?

I didn’t want people to die (Toby),

I am very passionate (William).

If you can help people in any way then you should try to give what you can (Isabella)!

We thought we would interview them about this because we are very passionate about saving people on the other side of the world that are in poverty. The whole school raised a massive $3673.34! This will make a huge difference in the lives of many.
