Gumboot Day - I am Hope

By Nick Leith | Posted: Tuesday November 9, 2021

The student council ran an optional gumboot day to show support for the I am Hope movement led by Mike King, on Friday last week

Big thanks to the students and staff who made an effort to wear gumboots on Friday. The philosophy of gumboot day is set around a day to feel as though one is 'walking in mud' or walking with the weight that mental health can put on our young people in Aotearoa / New Zealand.

A day in gumboots isn't easy - especially for our 'urban millennials'.

So congratulations to those that made the effort and to those who took part in our Gumboot Throwing competition at lunchtime. The combined effort raised $80 which was sent to the I Am Hope charity.
