Last Sunday the Casebrook Kapa Haka group went to Tūhono to compete against other Intermediate Schools and defend their last year titles.

At around 6pm Casebrook arrived at Horncastle Arena ready for the competition.

Throughout the competition, Casebrook got to see all the other schools amazingly display their items. After many schools performed their items Casebrook was ready to display theirs. The program begun with Waiata Tira Pepeha, followed by Waiata-ā-ringa Tangi a Te Ruru, to end it off, Casebrook’s last item was the ferocious Haka Waitaha Ripo Ripo.

After Casebrook had delivered their programme it was time for prize giving. Here are the rewards Casebrook received:

Best youth Guitarist - Gus Quinn

Best Waiata Tira

Best Waiata-ā-ringa

Best Haka

Best School Overall

Casebrook had won Tūhono and we are very proud of this massive accomplishment and victory. Huge thanks to Matua Willie, Whaea Tania and Mrs Yardley who dedicated a huge amount of their time and support.

Well done to all who participated in Tūhono, and good luck to our next year's leaders!
