Casebrook at Red in the Covid Protection Framework - Update Friday 28th Jan 2022

By Nick Leith | Posted: Friday January 28, 2022

Moving into Red has required a few modifications to the start of the year plans and we hope this email and the info included will clear up any immediate questions you might have.

Please be aware the info we share is being updated all the time. We will inform parents, caregivers & whānau of any changes as advised. We apply protocols to our school that have been advised to us by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Health (MOH).

What does Red Setting look like at Casebrook?

You can read about this on our website linked below - click on the link below:

The major change for our students will be the mandated requirement for staff and students to wear facemasks whilst indoors at school.

Please take extra time to read this section of our protocols.

Interviews next week

We will send out guidelines for next week's Weds/Thurs interviews by Monday at the latest so that these can be held safely for all participants.

Please note - any unvaccinated parents/caregivers are allowed to attend these but facemasks will be required at all times. Please respect this requirement. Any parents/caregivers with an exemption card will need to contact their child’s class teacher beforehand so an outdoor interview can be set up or a zoom interview can be arranged at the same time if preferred.

If you have not made a booking yet please find the link to our booking system in the class placement email that was sent on Monday.

EOTC

Year 8 camps and Year 7 surfing trips and trek are still on track to go ahead under Covid Red settings. and we need vaccinated and police vetted parent help for these trips! Please let your child’s classroom teacher know at your interview, or via email if you are keen to help out. Year 8 camp dates are set and you should have received information about this already. Year 7 dates will be shared at interviews.

BYOD and Internet user agreement

In light of the expected increase in Covid cases in the community, we are aiming to move very quickly to set our students up to complete their digital citizenship agreements and enable access to devices and the internet at school, as well as log any BYODs and mobile phones that come to school each day.

All parents/caregivers need to complete the user agreement below - it takes about 5 mins - please do with your child. If we did go into any closure scenario we aim to be as well prepared as possible.

Apologies for such a weighty email to start the year. As stated above, we will email more info about interviews prior to or on Monday. There will be further relevant school info and a chance to ask any questions at the interviews next week.

We look forward to working together closely in the year ahead. Have a lovely weekend.

Ngā mihi nui,
