Drama Enrichment

TPW had their first Drama Enrichment lesson with Miss Spain this week.

We participated in many different activities and games and looked at using movement, mime, slow-motion, and freeze for effect. We also began to look at improvisation, this is where we came up with ideas on the spot, accepted each other’s ideas, and we worked together as a team. Miss Spain has or will take each class for Drama this year.

We asked Kade, Maddie, Paige and Taylor some questions about:

Have you done any drama before?

  • “No, I haven’t” - Kade
  •  “No” - Maddie
  • “Nope” - Paige
  • “Yes, I do drama enrichment and I did it at my primary school” - Taylor

What did you enjoy about doing drama in your class?

  • “I enjoyed doing the slow-motion tag” - Kade
  • “I enjoyed doing the freeze tag” - Maddie
  • “I enjoyed the circle game where we passed the action” - Paige
  • “I liked doing Stop, Go, Jump, Clap” - Taylor

Were there any challenges?

  • “Making a group shape without talking” - Kade
  • “I found making the shapes challenging” - Maddie
  • “It was hard to communicate in our group with all of the different ideas but we still managed to make our shape” - Paige
  • “I find it hard when we changed to the opposite commands” - Taylor
