Welcome to 2017

On Tuesday we held a Powhiri to welcome our Year 7 students, their whanāu and new staff members. Thank you very much to those who were able to join us.  We are looking forward to working together ensuring 2017 is an exciting and productive year for all.

Casebrook has a number of new staff members who you will have the opportunity to meet at Meet the Teacher evening later this term.  This year an exciting addition to our timetable is the  introduction of the, "Digi Space."  Mrs Kelleher is leading this area and all students will have the opportunity to work with her.

Year 8 camps began on Tuesday.  Classes have three nights under canvas at Wainui.  The camps run back to back and so if your child's class camp falls on  a weekend day then they have the option of stay home the day or days after they return.  School is open and they are welcome to attend but we do give staff the time off as days in lieu and so they will placed with another class for that time.

Year 7 classes have three activity days.  These begin next Friday with all Year 7's on a day trek in the Port Hills.  They will also have a day surfing and a day at Horizon on the High Ropes course.  Please join the trips if you are available as it is a great way to meet the teacher and other parents.

We appreciate all of these activities are an additional expense at this time of year but we do consider them very valuable in assisting students to settle within their classes as well as providing challenges that require team work.  Thank you for your support.

We understand that for many new students a change of school is exciting but at the same time can cause  anxiety.  If you have concerns please do not hesitate to contact Mr Mark Russell.  Mark is our teacher  who is here to offer support to both students and parents.  Marks office is in the school foyer.

Thank you for having your child 'school ready' with uniform and books, it has helped ensure the first week has been a very positive experience.

At Casebrook we pride ourself in providing a wide curriculum to address the learning interests and needs of all students.  If at any time you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
