From writing speeches about Junk Food World to a controversial topic of How To Stop Pollution, Tyson has demonstrated how to write an award winning speech and has some sound advice for us.

Tyson, R13, has always loved giving speeches. He remembers going back to Year 1 where he did his first speech and has loved doing them ever since.

The process of writing a speech for Tyson is simple. Find a topic, do some research and get to it. Writing speeches is something that Tyson loves doing and then sharing them with an audience is the icing on the cake.

Tyson, who entered the school competition via a video entry, took out the Rotary Speech Competition with his speech on "How to stop pollution". The approach he takes is to inform, but also give the audience something to laugh about at the same time.

We asked Tyson some questions about his speech success.

What is your process to write a speech?
What comes to your mind first, find a topic that is easy to write about, do some research and get it done.

What is the favourite speech you have given?
Probably Sportsworld, because I am really into sports and it was really fun to write. I wrote about swimming to school and it got really creative.

What is your next goal for speeches?
As I am going to high school next year, I am really looking forward to seeing what next opportunities are on offer. I want to get as high up as I can, as I think there will be more competitions to be a part of.

Advice for nervous speech givers?
Get it out of the way. The less time you spend worrying about it, you may as well get up and do it. Suck it up and get it done.

Look out for Tyson on the speech circuit. He has big goals he wants to achieve!
