Teachers going bald for a great cause!

During November, some of the teachers at Te Kura Mareko took part in Movember

Movember is an annual event where men all over the world grow a moustache every November, for the sake of men’s health. It is run by the Movember foundation and people from all over the world participate.

Casebrook set up a donation page for the people that wanted to contribute through donations. Mr Broad and Mr Houliston promised students to shave their heads if we reached $1,500 in donations, and Mr Broad promised to shave his beard for $2,000.

On the 24th of November students had a non-uniform day, all gold coin profits going towards Movember. Some students were kind enough to give more than a gold coin. After all the donations we received a total of $1,600! Enough for students to shave Mr Broad and Mr Houliston's heads. Lucky for them that we are coming into summer.

Thank you to all of the staff who got involved in Movember by growing a moustache. A huge thank you to everyone who donated to such a good cause.

Grow a mo & look out for a bro!
