On Tuesday the 28th of March, some students competed in Canterbury's swimming sports in Ashburton at the EA Network Centre. Students were selected by their performance during our school swimming sports.

There were 15 different schools from around Canterbury competing.

We interviewed Leo Chai from Room 9 about the CAIMS swimming competition.

Leo qualified for 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle. His favourite race was the 50m freestyle race. Leo got 1st for 50m Freestyle, 2nd for 50m backstroke and 2nd for 100m freestyle. Leo first started swim training at four years old but started competitive swimming at the age of nine. Leo enjoyed the Canterbury Swimming Sports a lot and he said, “I think everyone should give swimming sports a go!”
