Casebrook Writers Workshop

A collection of the school's budding writers spent two days working on writing skills and knowledge, culminating in an interview with a school employee and reporting on it.

We had a busy and productive two days this week delving deeper into writing skills and knowledge.  Studying sentence structure, the format of reports, famous author's ideas about writing, finding complex and unusual vocabulary and various language features.  We had a few competitions, one of which was the Alliteration Challenge, which Shai from Room 2 took home with this awesome effort:

Athletic Abby ate an amazing apple while doing Athletics and Amazing Alicia ate almonds during August and Autumn.

The students paired up to plan and carry out an interview with a school employee and you can enjoy the fruits of their labour amongst the newsletter this week. There were so many interesting conversations and powerful insights that everyone involved benefited from.

Thank you so much to all the staff that played their part by offering time, ideas and energy.  The workshop and the interviews were a resounding success and most enjoyable to be a part of and of course read.
