Students registered with Ngāi Tahu are eligible to receive 'Learner Support Grants'.

All whānau with students who identify as Ngāi Tahu are invited to attend a hui at Casebrook on the 23rd of August at 6pm. Rhea Waretini, Kaitoko Mātauranga for Ngai Tūāhuriri will be presenting to whānau about the many amazing opportunities Ngāi Tahu have for them. These opportunities encourage growth and development of a strong cultural, Ngāi Tahu identity and can help in many ways. An example is “Tahua Taunaki” a $450 grant for any registered Ngāi Tahu child attending school to receive extra tuition.

Letters will be sent to all whānau identifying as Ngāi Tahu in due course. Attached are whakapapa registration forms as well as learner support fund application forms.

If you would like to find out more please contact Dan Leys dleys@casebrook.school.nz or Rhea Waretini directly rhea.waretini@ngaitahu.iwi.nz.
