It has been another busy couple of weeks at Casebrook with a range of opportunities for both whanau and students to take part in.

Thursday 10th August saw our ski trip to Mount Hutt. The weather played its part and the students enjoyed a sunny day on the slopes. Thank you to Mr Sunia Halaifonua for organisation of this very popular day.

Back at school,  students not taking part in the ski trip opted into a talent day. Students were given the opportunity to choose a "talent" for the day. These ranged from ‘Battle of the Burgers’ to ‘Cardboard Arcade Challenge’ to ‘Cartoon and Comic Creation’.

The following weekend saw the Casebrook PTA Quiz take place. This event has grown in popularity since its inception.   A great night was had by all.  A big congratulations to the team ‘Rodney Hide's Jacket’ who took out the win.  A massive thanks to the Casebrook PTA for their organisation of this event and their ongoing support.

Last Tuesday morning saw the first Root to Tip Cooking competition held at Casebrook. The competition saw schools using produce grown in their school gardens to create a dish. This competition was part of Casebrook's Garden to Table programme.

The afternoon saw the final round of Hagley Winter Sports take place. It is has been a frustrating season with weather having a big say on the competiton. Thank you to the parents and staff who helped with the coaching of these teams.

That evening our Kapa Haka, Korean Dance, and Pasifika Groups took to the stage for the Christchurch Cultural Festival. This is one of the highlights for our cultural groups at Casebrook and as always the students represented Casebrook with REP.  Watch their performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5CR5-mxxJ4

This Friday will see the return of Bronte Perriam, Ben Donaldson and Mr Nick Leith from Korea where they have been representing New Zealand at the e-Icon Global Collaboration event.

Enjoy the second half of the term and if you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
