Papanui/ Redwood Inaugural Cluster Celebration.

By Sharon Keen | Posted: Tuesday December 8, 2015

Casebrook was pleased to host the first of what we hope are many celebrations where students from across our cluster have the opportunity to share and perform.  It was a very pleasant, relaxed gathering and our students particularly enjoyed meeting up with their friends and teachers from previous school.

This week we received our draft education Review Office ( ERO) report.  The report talks about the  quality teaching and learning happening across the school, the inclusive nature of the school culture and the  high engagement of students with their learning.  The recommendation is that ERO will return in four - five years.

It is a very affirming report with a  four - five year review cycle  as good as it gets.  The confirmed report will be on our website early in the new year.

On Tuesday morning we held the Celebration Assemblies for Year 7 and Year 8.  This is a time when class teachers can recognise students for achievement and service.  Thank you to those who were able to join us.

Last night was Prize Giving - our formal recognition of student achievement. It is always a great pleasure to be able to publicly recognise students who have achieved outstanding results within a particular field or have been of service to the school or community.  Congratulations to all prize recipients and to all students for a being part of such a successful year.

On Monday please remember to have your child at school at 7:40am as we are heading to Hanmer Springs for the day.  We should be back here at 4:00pm.  It is always a great day.

Please remember the Year 8 Leavers Function is next Thursday night.  Further information is contained in this newsletter.  Please do encourage your child to attend as this is their final event of the year.

Year 7s only attend school next Friday  18 December for a half day, 8.35am - 12:00 pm.

This is the last newsletter for 2015.  Thank you very much for your ongoing support this year.  It has been very busy but very successful.  We are all incredible  proud of what our students have achieved.  Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that they are only young.

Best wishes if you are leaving Casebrook and for those returning we look forward to 2016.

Have a safe and happy Christmas and all the best for 2016.

Regards
