Student teachers at Casebrook

This term we have three student teachers joining us for the first four weeks of term four at Casebrook.

Mrs Kennedy is in Room 1, Miss Wilkes in Room 2 and Miss Hall in Room 12. We have enjoyed having them at school and being able to learn new things from them. We hope they have a great placement here with us and we hope to see them again.

We asked Miss Wilkes some questions about being a student teacher and have recorded her answers.

Q:How did you feel on your first day of Casebrook?

A: I felt excited to be able to teach the year 8 students but I was nervous at the same time. I couldn’t wait to start to start teaching the class and getting to know all the students.

Q:Do you feel like you fit in at Casebrook?

A: Yes, because all the students and staff were very welcoming when I came and everyone is very friendly and supportive.

Q:What made you want to be a teacher?

A: I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was little. I love working with children it’s always been something I've been passionate about.

Q:What is your favourite subject to teach and why?

A: I’ve enjoyed maths and I love to do PE.

Q:Are you surprised how children behave in a classroom?

A: No because I've just recently left high school myself so I know how students behave. I am impressed with the behaviour at Casebrook.
