Casebrook Shines In Digital Technology Awards

On Friday Mrs Shona Kelleher accompanied three students who attended the National Media and Digital Excellence Awards in Tauranga.

Jorja Shadbolt was placed third in her Music Video category and Neo Irion and Liam McIntyre in the top five for creating a programme using Scratch.  On Sunday at Robofest in Christchurch the boys team (Ethan Adams, Felix Halford & Jacob Mc Fredries), won their competition and the girls (Kaitlyn Auckram, Deana Kydd & Caoimhe Rands) were placed fourth overall. A fantastic result and experience for all.

Last week our Kapa Haka group and Rock Band performed at the Northcote Community afternoon.  Our students appreciate the opportunity to perform to a live audience, as it makes all the practises and rehearsals worth while.

The staff teams provided strong competition for students in this weeks relays.  I am not sure  who suffered the most!

We have just completed our visits to our local contributing schools and other new 2018 students have been in for a morning.  This, along with the interviews we have next week helps ensure a smooth transition into Casebrook next year.

Next week we have the S.T.E.A.M. display in the school hall. This is where our Specialist staff display the  students work that has been completed through out the year.  I encourage you to visit on Wednesday or Thursday night, it is always well worth a look.

During the coming weeks Year 7 families will receive information regarding next year.  If you have any questions please contact us.

Enjoy the long weekend.
