Swimming Sports - good fun for all.

The Casebrook Swimming Sports were held last week, the boys on Thursday and the girls on Friday. Most of our students made the most of the event by entering races that were suitable to their personal skill level. Thank you very much to Miss Emily Mordue and all staff for making it happen.

This year, during sports time in Terms 2 and 3 we will be offering swimming lessons for our non- swimmers.  Please encourage your child to select this option if it would be beneficial.

On Wednesday afternoon the majority of our staff attended a "Paid Union," meeting.  In many areas of New Zealand schools have great difficulty attracting and retaining teachers.  There are also concerns around the lack of support services available and the level of commitment expected from teaching staff. It is very important the government is aware of the current issues as they impact on the educational opportunities of our young people and we must work together to achieve the best possible outcomes. We will keep you informed.

Our Itinerant music programme started this week.  We are able to offer tuition in a wide range of instruments which can lead to being a member of a band or percussion group.  If you would like your child to take part we still have some vacancies.

The Easter break begins next Thursday, please remember schools are closed on the Tuesday and  we will be open again on Wednesday 4 April.

The term has been exceptionally positive with great engagement from all our students.  Thank you for your on going support and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
