Hannah Lemon (Rm 12) won the Christchurch Intermediate Schools Speech Competition last Thursday evening. Meg Lancaster (Rm 8) took out second place in a wonderful night for our public speakers.

The annual competition brings together the finest public speakers and speech writers from Year 7 and 8 classrooms at Intermediate Schools in Christchurch.  As the host school this year, the event was held in the Casebrook staffroom.

Hannah, who also took out the trophy last year, was judged to have the finest speech by the three judges who scored the event. Her preparation and confidence in front of the audience were the deciding factors in a close contest. Hannah's speech was on 'Peer Pressure'.

Meg spoke about the need for ʻFlu Jabs' and made the event a close call with her calm, natural delivery style.

We are absolutely delighted for the girls - a result that reflects their hard work, preparation and skill.
