Tēnā Koutou Kātoa - SpecTechular was yet again an amazing display of our young people's creations, developed in our Technology and Specialists areas.

Last night our community and future Year 7s were invited to view the vast array of creations from our technology and specialist programmes. Our staff and students can be very proud of the originality and variety of work produced.

On Tuesday night our school bands performed in the local Band Quest competition. Stone Cold Gladiators, our rock band, was placed 2nd overall.  Congratulations to the members, Jake Holmes, Hunter Allen, Jesse Scott, Mae Crawford and Alex Loader.  Notification, our pop band, also played very well. Congratulations to the members, Aysia Winter-Perry, Addison Ransfield, Tahana Waretini, Fergus Quinn and Josh Hicks.  Tahana was named best keyboardist on the night.

Congratulations and thank you to our Kapa Haka students and the tutors Matua Willie and Whaea Tania.  In the Tūhono competition, Casebrook was awarded best small group or individual singer, first place for action song, and first place for haka. Our leader, Gafatasi, won best male speaker and best male leader. Allazade, our other leader, won best female leader.

Later in the newsletter are video clips for each of the Dunedin trips. The students had a fabulous time.  Thank you to parents and the staff for helping to make it happen.

The Ministry of Education has directed the Board to implement an enrolment scheme. The details can be found by following this link https://forms.gle/CF2ErJ3EUuj8bcna6

We ask you all to respond to the survey.  From the school's point of view, it is very important that we retain Areas A, B, C and D.  This area includes all the schools in our Kahui Ako or Community of Learning.  We have worked very hard over the last 6 or 7 years to build relationships within our community and to develop a learning pathway. We also realise this does not provide families from North Canterbury with an Intermediate or Middle Schooling option.

Please share your views, it is important this is completed as soon as possible as the consultation time frames are short with submissions closing on December 7.

As always your support is appreciated.

Enjoy the long weekend.
