Cross Country Zones

On Wednesday the 23rd of June, all the schools in Canterbury went to Halswell Quarry to compete in the Cross Country Zones.

Overall there were 1,400 competitors, 37 of these students were representing Casebrook. These Casebrook students were selected to compete because they placed within the top 10 at our school cross country.

Everyone from Casebrook did exceptionally well despite the muddy and wet conditions. We found the course more difficult than expected, it took us uphill and downhill, making it harder to run. Every student gave it their all and they can be proud of their results. A special mention must go to Toby Gee who placed 8th overall in the Year eight boys, out of 180, and Daniel Wordsworth who placed 8th in the Year seven boys race out of 184. Good luck to these boys who will compete in the South Island competition later this year.

We all would like to say a big thank you to Mr. Straker and all the parents for getting us to the event and for supporting us all the way through.
