A number of Casebrook teams started playing sport last week for Summer Hagley. The different sports we are playing are touch, futsal, korfball, cricket, and ultimate frisbee. Maddie is with the touch team.
We interviewed Maddie McDonald who is playing touch this term.
Our only girls touch team has played two games so far for summer sport.
In touch the positions are middles, links, and wingers. Maddie plays wing for most of her games. In Maddie’s team there are 12 girls.
For training, the team meets together for 30 minutes during their lunch time to practice skills like passing the ball, sprints, and retrieving. Maddie did touch at her old school Ouruhia Model School, and is planning to do it next year as a Year 8!
Maddie would encourage more girls that are interested in sports to give them a go, as it's lots of fun!
