Shave for a cure

At the beginning of the holidays, Ryan and Nate Johnston shaved their heads for cancer. They ended up raising a whopping $1591 from many generous donors.

Ryan and Nate decided to be part of this good cause as their leader from the Redwood Scout Group was also doing this. The boys were shaving their hair to remember loved ones and support those who have cancer. They were all set to meet together at the scout hall to shave their heads but unfortunately, COVID struck which meant the two boys were isolating on this night. Ryan ended up going first and getting rid of his mullet. Their mum ended up shaving both boys heads. They had extended family from Christchurch watching the haircuts from video calls.

"It felt really weird." said Nate.

Nate said that he thinks he will keep his hair short as it is out of his face but reckons Ryan will want to grow it back as soon as possible.
