Healthy Eating Workshop

Last week, the Tōtaranui Kāhui Ako hosted a healthy eating workshop for whānau/caregivers- 'Deconstructed dinners for the whole family, including fussy eaters.'

Firstly, a huge thank you to Tansy Boggon, the qualified nutritionist who ran the workshop, and Kathy Frampton, owner of the Northwood New World for sponsoring the workshop and providing the delicious tastings.

To begin the workshop parents were given the task of making some mini vege frittatas which they'd be able to try later in the workshop. Following this, Tansy led discussions around fussy eating and went through some other recipes families could try.

Once the frittatas had cooked, we had a break and tasted some other delicious deconstructed recipes that Northwood New World had prepared. After having some food the workshop continued and whānau/caregivers continued to talk about new recipes and ideas they had to try when they got home.

Feedback from the workshop was really positive and everyone liked being able to take some resources and recipes away with them.

Attached are a couple of examples of the resources/recipes that were handed out. Hopefully, we will see you at the next workshop.
