Country’s largest display of battery electric vehicles coming to Christchurch

Christchurch will lead the charge towards cleaner forms of transport next month by hosting the country’s biggest public display of new battery electric vehicles.

The Take Charge Christchurch Expo will showcase the latest and greatest in battery electric vehicles and give people a chance to see first-hand the vehicle technology that is available right now to make the switch from fossil-fuelled vehicles.

The two-day expo will take place at Te Pae Convention Centre over the weekend of 17 to 18 September and will be free for the public to attend.

Papanui Library and Service Centre Refurbishment

The Papanui Library (corner of Langdons Road and Restell Street) is being refurbished and the building will be therefore be closed from 19 September 2022 through to November 2022.

The Post Shop area will be sectioned off and remain open throughout while contractors carry out work on the remainder of the building.

Morrison Avenue Bowling Club – “Have a Go” public open day

“Have a Go” day at Morrison Avenue Bowling Club on Sunday 11th September from 1pm to 4pm. Members of the public welcome. Community Energy Action

“Keep warm at home” help for tenants and homeowners in the Papanui-Innes area.

CEA Charitable Trust in Christchurch has developed a free checklist for tenants looking for a new home that is warm, dry and healthy to live in.

The charitable trust also continues to have free insulation available for homeowners in the Papanui-Innes Community Board area. Homeowners will need to have a Community Services Card (CSC) or live in an eligible low income area to qualify for the free insulation. There are qualifying areas all around the Community Board area but especially around Belfast, Redwood, Northcote and at the northern end of Shirley and Mairehau.

Music from Celtic Lands and Silver Bands

The St Albans Community Choir and the New Brighton Silver Band invite you to a concert being held at 5pm on Sunday 18 September 2022 at St Paul’s Parish Church, 1 Harewood Road, Christchurch. St Albans Tennis Club – “Love Tennis” event

St Albans Tennis Club is running the nationwide FREE Love Tennis event, open to anyone who would like to give tennis a go, on Sunday 11 September 2022 from 11am to 4pm.

Photo Portrait Fundraiser for the Papanui Toy Library

For the fourth year running we're hosting our portrait fundraiser! This is our most popular event all year and sells out. We have the wonderful Camila from Tupi Creative back again taking the photos, and we're heading to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens by the Band Rotunda for photos amongst the daffodils.

You don't have to be a member of the Toy Library to come along. This is for families, couples, kids, grandparents - you choose!

People For Information (PFI) 

People For Information (PFI) co-ordinates people to take part in paid research all over the country.

We are always on the lookout for new faces it might be focus groups, user testing, or depth interviews via Zoom with a researcher, and on a huge range of topics such as issues facing business owners to a new banking app, advertising ideas for new drinks or buying a car.

No expertise is necessary, just be happy to share your thoughts and take part. Every participant is always thanked for their time and input with either vouchers or a direct credit.
