The scholarship is open to boys attending a registered public primary or intermediate school in the former Canterbury Education District who have not attained the age of 14 years on the first day of December in the year of selection and who are born of New Zealand citizens.
The candidate must produce a certificate from the Principal of his school certifying:-
a) That the candidate can swim a distance of 100 yards (approx 100 metres).
b) That he has taken an active part in leadership in activities of the school.
Please note there is a $20 application fee when applying for this scholarship.
